The following provides a detailed description for the position of Assistant Manager.  Actual duties performed may vary slightly.  The Assistant Manager is responsible for activating 20 new membership programs monthly by driving new prospect traffic into the business and through membership referrals from our existing membership base.  The Assistant Manager will also assist with Member Service Center duties as needed as well as providing supervisory assistance as assigned for operational departments as needed.

POSITION DUTIES

Activate 20 new membership programs monthly.

Ensure a minimum of 20 VFP or Fitness Consultation appointments for new activations monthly

Establish, maintain and manage relationships with business and organizations within the community to further the Gold’s Gym mission.

Manage accurate record keeping in company assigned systems including, but not limited to, InTouch and Datatrak.

Present a professional, passionate and knowledgeable front at all times.

Listens to member complaints & assists in resolving problems

Meet daily with management to identify needs, opportunities and objectives.

Participate in Fitness Consultations, Group Fitness Classes and VFP presentations weekly to maintain outstanding product knowledge

Obtain and qualify sales leads via walk-ins, telephone inquiries and other company approved methods, distribute effectively to ensure maximum     membership conversions.

Participate in all assigned management activities including conference calls, meetings and developmental activities.

Follow up on all prospects by using established sales systems.

Conduct membership and program presentations and telephone inquiries using established sales systems.

Establish and maintain minimum required referral program as defined by Company standards.

Stay up-to-date on Company pricing and promotion schedule.

Assume responsibility for developing selling skills.  Prepare for, attend and actively participate in sales meetings. 

Enroll new members and follows up to ensure customer satisfaction and effective member integration.

Consistently achieve or surpass personal and club sales goals.

Maintain information on club history, background, philosophy, facilities, staff and policies.

Assist in ensuring that the gym is clean and equipment in good condition.

Understand and adhere to Company policies and procedures.

Must be self motivated and have strong organizational skills

Must have the ability to handle challenging customer issues with patience, tact and professionalism.

Must embody the company mission through leadership, personal expectations and lifestyle choices relative to fitness and wellness.

Must exhibit outstanding written and oral communication skills.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENT

Excellent sales, communication and customer service skills.

Must be able to successfully pass all testing requirements including gym tours, telephone inquiry, counselor planner audit, guest card audit, lead box/bowl program, referral program and corporate outreach program.

Thorough understanding of Gold’s Gym’s membership sales systems.

Basic computer skills.

Outstanding communication skills.

Ability to source, recruit and develop talent.

Possess thorough understanding of company mission, regional goals and missions, and how his/her facility will contribute in these areas.

Possess thorough know of local competitors, future competitors and all relevant information pertaining to these entities.

Exhibit a superior sense of customer service at all times.

Willingness to work flexible hours.

Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel) and cloud computing (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) as well as personal access to required programs.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common business-related documents such as Gold’s Gym Membership and Service Agreements.  Ability to respond verbally and in writing to common inquiries or complaints from customers, management or staff.

High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience

Must hold a current CPR/AED Certification.

Bachelors degree in related field preferred
